Bottom Painting

For those who keep their vessel in the water for extended periods of time, we offer pressure washing and bottom painting services.

Bottom paint is different from a gelcoat or a polyurethane like Awlgrip. It is applied (rolled on) below the waterline of your boat to prevent marine growth. If you pull your boat out of the water after each use, then you probably don’t need bottom paint. If your boat stays in the water all season then you will need bottom paint.

There are many different types of bottom paint and some are not compatible with others when getting another coat applied. This is why it is very important to know what type was applied on the previous service. Before scheduling a bottom paint job, be sure to determine what type of paint was previously applied as we would have to strip the old paint off before applying the new coat and there are higher costs associated with this.
